So, that Tuesday, July 15, we continued the drive to visit my dear friend Nancy Griggs (Gardenhire) in Plano, TX.  Q and I got there right on time and found her ADORABLE house with no problem.

However, her 2 cats were NOT pleased!  LOLOLOL  It was hilarious!  The entire front room was like a race car track.  Over the sofa, table, flying onto the floor and skidding on the area rug, back on the sofa then the ottoman, things flying, the cats screaming and Q barking.  We were just OMG!  Get 'em!

So, Q went in the back by the pool and just chilled. The cats took cover somewhere in the house and were clearly pissed off! :/

Nancy had made a fabulous snack plate with her home grown tomatoes and home grown basil; freshly made salmon with garlic; exotic cheeses; rice crackers; humus; wine, champagne or cucumber/rosemary infused water.  Doesn't that sound just like Nancy?

We sat by the pool and caught up, dipped in when it was starting to get too hot, and just marveled at how awesome we are... ;)

We only had a little time, though because Mike, my new friend was taking us to dinner.  He flew in from Canada, picked up his car in McKinney and drove to get us at 6.  Can I tell you he was there exactly at 6.  Wow.  We had a great dinner, told stories, laughed and had humongous left overs to take home.

We were both pooped and just fell out.  Q and I planned to be off at 7 am the next morning so, it all ended well.  What a total joy to see her, even for a few hours.  Looks like she has some itchy feet, too! She plans on a trip to Nova Scotia soon to visit Claire, her daughter, husband and 2 beautiful grandchildren.  Then to Cabo San Lucas to visit Jordan, her ever so handsome MAN son.  Then onto
Steamboat Springs for 7 weeks to see if that may be an alternative living location for part of the year.

Isn't it awesome to be this age and be able to do what we need to do, as well as what we want to do?

I just love her. Always have, always will.

Nancy and Steph selfies!

After visiting Nancy we ventured forth, through the RAIN to Tulsa.  There was an unreal sense of smell as we drove into Oklahoma.  The freshly cut grass had a pungent and wheat-y scent that was so aromatic that I had to roll down all the windows and just let it waft around and swaddle us.

We got to Debbie Swan's in spot time with everyone arriving at the same time!

Deb had a fabulous idea with her gaggle of girlfriends where they all get together several times a year and have dinner celebrating several birthdays.  The deal is they give each other funny/bizarre cards, no signature, with a post it in it referring who it's from so they can be recycled!  Love it.... stealing that idea!

When we were leaving Deb and I begged for a photo with them doing a photo bomb.  Whoop!

Once we got back to Deb's, Susie Nash came over and we chatted, laughed, cried, told old and new stories and plotted about a perhaps rendezvous in Denver!

I love these gals and Quincey was a playboy!
